Before being forcibly ejected from Athy in 1991, Brendan O’Rourke had already begun to make his mark in creative circles. At age 4 in Scoil Michil Naofa his drawing which he entitled ‘A Tree’, earned him a bula bos from Miss Curran’s Junior Infant class. This boldly original work remained on the classroom wall for the rest of that week, and is still considered one of the most influential all-crayon drawings of its era, according to a recent survey of people with steel plates in their heads.

He then took a break from art for the last 27 years to concentrate on trying not to go bald.

These days his other interests include walking his piano and leaving out commas. And writing about himself in the third person.

Me as a kid
ABOVE: This is me around 1983 I think. To my right is my brother. He often borrows DVDs off me, but never gives them back, so I put this picture up mainly to annoy him.
